A bit about me
Hello, I’m Khairun!
After finishing college, I kick-started my career through an apprenticeship with a charity called Leadership Through Sport & Business (LTSB), where I completed my AAT Levels 2, 3 and 4 while gaining practical experience in accounting, audit and outsourcing.
After taking a short break from studying, I joined Ecovis to begin my ACA journey, and I’m now part-qualified with just three exams to go (the finish line is finally in sight!).
I’m part of the BA audit team and work with a variety of clients across different industries. Recently, I’ve been spending a lot of time on SPV audits.
One of the things I love most about audit is that no two days are the same. I genuinely enjoy getting stuck into the detail, piecing together the story behind the numbers, and investigating how transactions flow from start to finish. It feels a bit like solving a puzzle, and every client brings a new challenge, which keeps the work interesting and means there’s always something new to learn.
Personally speaking
- What are your favourite hobbies?
The gym is my favourite part of the day! I also love experimenting with new recipes and spending time with the people who make me laugh the most.
- If you could choose an alternative career, what would it be?
I would pursue teaching, as teachers play a huge part in a child’s life growing up and also because I love hearing their fascinating stories!
- What is your favourite meal?
Breakfast, without a doubt! I can’t start my day without a sourdough toast and I’m always happy if there’s a good brunch involved.
- What’s the most exciting thing on your bucket list?
To fill my passport with stamps and my camera roll with memories from every corner of the world!
- If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?
The power to heal others. Life can be tough sometimes, so being able to help people smile again and enjoy life to the fullest would be an incredible gift.
- Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Definitely a cat person! I have a very spoiled ragdoll–maine coon mix called Shifu. He’s very cuddly, a complete homebody, and has mastered the art of living a completely stress free life. Honestly, I have a lot to learn from him!
- What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
The person you become is more important than the things you achieve.
