Kate Treacy

Hello, I’m Kate.

I have been working at Ecovis for nearly two years and during that time I have gained experience working on a wide range of audit engagements across different industries. My role has allowed me to develop a strong understanding of the audit process, from planning and testing through to completion, while working closely with both clients and colleagues. Throughout my time at Ecovis, I have continued to build my technical knowledge, client relationship skills and confidence in taking ownership of audit areas.

One of the things I enjoy most about my role is the opportunity to work with different teams and a variety of clients. Every client is unique, which means there are always new challenges and learning opportunities. I particularly enjoy problem solving and investigating issues to reach a solution. There is a real sense of satisfaction in overcoming challenges, providing answers and contributing to the successful completion of an audit. I also value the collaborative culture at Ecovis and the opportunity to learn from colleagues with different experiences and expertise.

I aim to build positive working relationships with clients by communicating clearly and being as helpful as possible throughout the audit process. I focus on making requests straightforward and easy to understand, whilst remaining adaptable and flexible to accommodate client needs where possible. By being approachable, responsive and organised, I help clients navigate the audit process efficiently and minimise disruption to their day-to-day operations.

I have a particular interest in developing my technical audit and accounting knowledge, especially when it comes to understanding complex transactions and solving challenging accounting issues. I enjoy analysing financial information, investigating discrepancies and applying professional judgement to reach well-supported conclusions.

• What are your favourite hobbies?

I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and going on nice walks.

• What was your first job?

I worked at Boots, the chemist, part time for 2 years.

• What’s the most exciting thing on your bucket list?

Travel the world!

• If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?

To travel back in time and relive moments again!

• What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics?

I would like to compete in the swimming.

• Are you a cat person or a dog person?

Definitely a dog person!
