A bit about me
Hello, I’m Jamie. I joined Ecovis as a Business Advisory Associate in 2016, having graduated from the University of Sheffield with a degree in Accounting and Financial Management. Throughout my time at Ecovis, I’ve been fortunate to work with a wide variety of companies, which has allowed me to gain valuable experience.
Since entering a management role at Ecovis, I have begun to focus on working with Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and manufacturing companies, however, I’m keen to maintain a diverse portfolio as this enables me to continue to develop my technical capabilities and it also allows me to work with a variety of team members and clients.
In terms of assisting clients, the two key areas I focus on are adding value and efficiency. I focus a great deal on project management, which is fundamental in ensuring the audit process runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible, allowing deadlines to be met.
Throughout my time at Ecovis, I have really valued the exposure I’ve had to senior colleagues, who have been pro-active in sharing their experiences and thought processes with the wider team. This has been fundamental in my development and it also creates an open culture in which all team members feel valued.
Personally speaking
What are your favourite hobbies?
I’m a sports fanatic. I could watch and play pretty much anything… as long as I win!
If you could choose an alternative career, what would it be?
England cricketer – travel the world and hopefully hit a few runs on the way.
What was your first job?
I used to referee Sunday league football. I soon realised getting abused by full grown men was not worth the extra pocket money.
What is your favourite music?
A live band usually delivers, throw a bit of ABBA into the mix and you have yourself a winner.
What’s the most daring thing you have ever done?
Bungee-jumping off a bridge in Thailand.
What’s the most exciting thing on your bucket list?
I’d love to travel Australia and New Zealand.
