Ivan Ostapenko

Hello, I’m Ivan. With over 9 years’ of practical professional work experience, I have recently joined the Ecovis Outsourced Business Services team as a Senior.

I started my career at age of 17 at a small Chartered Accounting firm in North London, as a trainee in Accounts and Audit department. I quickly progressed through the ranks to Junior Associate. After 18 months, I decided to transition to management consultancy, as I saw that this will be future of accounting. Therefore, I took an opportunity at Menzies LLP (top 20 firm) as a Management Consultant.

At Menzies, alongside my day-to-day responsibilities, I led a number of projects, such as Xero migration and integration, implementation and set-up of MTD. I also undertook a forensic accounting project with the forensic team to investigate a fraud of £2.8m. I later received an offer from Jeffreys Henry (top 50 firm) for a Business Consultant position, where I advised number of clients in my portfolio on businesses performances and growth. I haves also advised a number of clients who were new to the UK market on setting-up operations.

Shortly after, I received another offer from two former PwC partners who started a new accounting and advisory firm in London with the aim of revolutionising traditional accounting. The opportunity was very interesting and different because the work mainly involved advisory services on performances of businesses and helping businesses grow. However, shortly after starting at the firm, the firm’s largest client offered me a temporary contract to lead a number of projects, such as, raising investment funds, preparation of financial models, cash flows, performance analysis and management, and expand revenue through current infrastructure. As the contract was coming to an end, I decided to undertake an opportunity with the Big 4 – Deloitte France. I am now working with Ecovis and look forward to getting to know the team and new clients here.

I enjoy playing and watching football. Whenever there’s an opportunity, I like to attend live football games.

I enjoy cooking and eating, so these two activities go well together!

I don’t have a favourite genre of films or music. It all really depends on the mood. I watch and listen to all kinds of films and music.
