Gina Acosta

Hello, I’m Gina. I’ve worked in the payroll outsourcing environment for over twelve years, during which time I’ve gained valuable experience in dealing with various client payrolls (SME and large sized companies). This experience has given me the knowledge needed to understand how to be compliant in every payroll process, perform calculations, provide advice in all fields of PAYE and Workplace Pension, and apply new legislation changes.

In addition, after 3 years of study, I completed the CIPP foundation degree in Payroll Management. This qualification helped me to acquire an in-depth understanding of payroll processes and also the legislation, contractual conditions and case-law which underpin the profession. Alongside this, I acquired a broad range of managerial knowledge and skills including operations management, project management, marketing principles and budget controls.

I aim to exceed my clients’ expectations rather than just meeting them. Ensuring I value clients’ time, having a pleasant attitude, and providing knowledgeable resources help me raise my level of customer care.

There are wide variety of tasks in the field of payroll and I enjoy them. I am flexible and enjoy working both in a team and independently. Working in Ecovis enables me to continue my career progression.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why?

My superpower would be to have ‘super speed’. It’s often within the nature of business to respond very quickly to events, so I think my speed and agility would be useful.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Continue to be dedicated, hardworking, accept criticism and turn weaknesses into strengths.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to become teacher, as I love tutoring. My role as an accountant still gives me the opportunity to teach our clients!
