Ellen Cowland

Hello, I’m Ellen.

Prior to joining Ecovis, I gained a Business Management degree from the University of Surrey and worked in Asset Management. Keen to continue developing my knowledge and gain professional qualifications, I was attracted to the opportunities for growth and progression that Ecovis offers.

I am now a Supervisor within the Accounts team, managing my own portfolio of clients and supporting them through a range of compliance and advisory matters. I work predominantly with media and entertainment clients, which I particularly enjoy due to the dynamic nature of the industry and the variety of interesting projects and technical queries that arise.

My role gives me ownership of client relationships, deadlines and project delivery, while also providing the opportunity to investigate more complex accounting and tax matters. I enjoy the challenge of finding practical solutions for clients and continuously expanding my technical knowledge. One of the aspects I value most is seeing projects through from start to finish and helping clients navigate their business and reporting requirements.

I particularly enjoy the friendly atmosphere at Ecovis and the opportunity to work closely with both clients and colleagues across a wide range of sectors and engagements.

• Favourite hobbies

I have a diverse mixture of hobbies – from live music gigs to running, where I have completed half marathons and am aiming for a full marathon. I also really enjoy travelling.

• Alternative career choice

As I love music so much, it would have to be a Music A & R (artists and repertoire) representative – always on the look out for finding new promising artists for a record label or music publisher to sign.
