Dominic Yau

Hello, I’m Dom. I joined the ECOVIS team in 2019 just after graduating with a BSc in Accounting and Finance. Whilst studying for my degree, I completed an industrial placement at BDO in the Real Estate and Construction London Audit Group.

Recently I completed the ICAEW Sustainability Certificate, which is designed to provide financial professionals with deep knowledge of sustainability risks. This understanding enables us to partner with sustainability experts to analyse and integrate the impact of these risks into financial planning and reporting. I am fascinated about this emerging area of professional services and it’s clear that this is of vital importance to my clients, and I am keen to develop my knowledge and technical expertise such that I can support their increasing focus on this element of their business.

As an Assistant Manager in the Audit and Business Advisory team, I work on a varied portfolio of clients, ranging from international manufacturing companies to gambling and online gaming organisations. We provide audit services that allow clients to rely on their financial statements more reliably, as well as highlighting possible areas of improvement for them to work on.

When asked what it is I enjoy about my role here, it’s the people at ECOVIS and the wide range of opportunities it has to offer. Everyone is very friendly and social, whether that be round the pool table at lunch or in the pub after work. Also, the variety of clients we work with from international companies to SMEs and the different challenges they bring.

David Attenborough  – I have always loved his TV programmes and if I wasn’t an accountant I would love to go on some of the adventures he has been on, I also think it’s great how he is inspiring the next generation.
