Hi, I’m Alex. I joined Ecovis in July 2014 as a school leaver and have spent most of my career within the Outsourcing team, alongside gaining experience in our Tax department. While working at Ecovis, I studied for my AAT and ACCA qualifications, qualifying as an accountant and progressing to my current role as Manager.
I work across our full range of compliance services and manage a large and varied portfolio of clients. Many of my clients are overseas-owned businesses, so I spend a lot of time helping companies establish themselves in the UK and navigate the local compliance environment. I enjoy building strong relationships with clients, ensuring they feel supported and confident about their obligations, while helping them understand anything that may impact their business throughout its lifecycle.
No two days are the same, and I enjoy working with businesses of all sizes and across a wide range of sectors. My attention to detail, problem-solving mindset and commitment to excellent client service help me deliver value beyond day-to-day compliance requirements.
If you ask me what I enjoy most about working at Ecovis, it has to be the people. The supportive and friendly culture is what makes Ecovis stand out, and over the years I’ve built great relationships and life-long friendships with many of my colleagues. Everyone is approachable and willing to help, regardless of their role, which creates a fantastic environment to learn, develop and succeed.
Favourite hobbies
Football – both playing (although not as often as I’d like) and watching it too. My favourite team is Arsenal, I love supporting them, even if they do often bring me heartbreak.
What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics?
I think probably long jump or something that takes advantage of my long legs! Maybe basketball?
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
In my interview I probably said accountant, but realistically it was a footballer!
Coffee or tea?
I like both but prefer coffee, especially Pret coffees! I am taking advantage of their 5 cups of coffee a day for a £25 month subscription.
Are you a cat person or a dog person?
Dog all day long! My parents have had springer spaniels and golden retrievers before.
