Alex Stubbings

Hello, I’m Alex. I have worked at Ecovis since July 2014, mainly in the Outsourced Business Services team and have progressed to the position of Assistant Manager. Whilst much of my work is compliance-related (management accounts, VAT, payroll etc) I believe my attention to detail and ensuring my clients are happy with the service we deliver is how I bring extra value. I am a perfectionist, and although not always possible, I try my best to achieve this.

If you ask me what I enjoy the most about my role and working at Ecovis – it has to be the people! The people are what make Ecovis stand out. Whether it be a partner or someone who has just joined the firm, everyone makes an effort if you talk to them. I have made a lot of life-long friends here, including the two colleagues I currently live with.

Favourite hobbies

Football – both playing (although not as often as I’d like) and watching it too. My favourite team is Arsenal, I love supporting them, even if they do often bring me heartbreak.

What sport would you compete in if you were in the Olympics?

I think probably long jump or something that takes advantage of my long legs! Maybe basketball?

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

In my interview I probably said accountant, but realistically it was a footballer!

Coffee or tea?

I like both but prefer coffee, especially Pret coffees! I am taking advantage of their 5 cups of coffee a day for a £25 month subscription.

Are you a cat person or a dog person?

Dog all day long! My parents have had springer spaniels and golden retrievers before.
