Key dates for your upcoming obligations
Understanding your tax deadlines helps you avoid penalties and remain compliant. Therefore, it is important to keep track of all approaching dates. The following timetable outlines the main obligations for February and March 2026. Each entry shows the due date and the period it relates to. This makes it easier to plan and take action in good time.
Tax Diary February/March: Corporation Tax deadlines
You must pay Corporation Tax for the year ended 30 April 2025 by 1 February 2026. This date marks the final opportunity to settle the liability without facing interest. The next Corporation Tax deadline follows shortly afterwards. You must pay the tax for the year ended 31 May 2025 by 1 March 2026. Because these deadlines fall close together, you should review your records early. This ensures you have the correct figures and enough time to arrange payment.
PAYE and NIC dates
Your PAYE and NIC deductions for the month ended 5 February 2026 are due by 19 February 2026. If you pay electronically, you have until 22 February 2026. You must also meet the same pattern the following month. PAYE and NIC for the month ended 5 March 2026 fall due on 19 March 2026, or 22 March 2026 if you pay electronically. These recurring dates help you build a predictable routine. They also reduce the risk of missing a deadline during busy periods.
Tax Diary February/March: CIS filing and payment
You must file the CIS300 monthly return for the month ended 5 February 2026 by 19 February 2026. CIS tax deducted for the same month is also payable by this date. The pattern repeats in March. You must file the CIS300 return for the month ended 5 March 2026 by 19 March 2026, and pay the CIS tax by the same day. These dates are fixed each month, which supports consistent planning.
Self-Assessment surcharge point
A further deadline applies to Self-Assessment payments. Tax for 2024–25 paid after 2 March 2026 will attract a 5% surcharge. However, you can avoid this if you clear the liability by 1 April 2026, or if you agree a time to pay arrangement with HMRC by that date.
