How do I start a business in the UK?

Setting up a business is an exciting time for anyone but, for a lot of people, it’s also a bit scary knowing where to start and can be fraught with questions.

What structure is right for my business? Should I be looking at a sole trader, partnership or Limited company? What other licenses, insurance or registrations do I need to make? When do I need to file tax returns? How do I get a bank account? How do I employ people? The list goes on! And the answer is that varies from business to business but can actually be quite straight forward, fast and satisfying!

It’s important to know that you’re not alone and that there are many resources and tools available to you. The Gov.uk website has some great guidance and we have a close working partnership with Barclays bank, who have a great new business team.
