Over the 5th-8th July I got to spend some time with colleagues from our Rosenheim office in the pursuit of cycling adventure. I arrived on the Friday evening before being swiftly whisked to a lovely alpine restaurant for the evening. Then stayed with Reinhold Wenzl and his wonderful family before driving down through Austria in to the Italian alps and the Dolomites area. Together, in full Ecovis colours, 5 of us took on the Maratona dles Dolomites, an iconic celebration of cycling with 9,000 riders from 40 countries.
It was an incredible experience, if somewhat brutal on a body used to rolling English hills rather than rising mountains and the final climb with gradients hitting 19% certainly lived up to its reputation. The location was simply stunning, so I’m extremely thankful for the opportunity. It was a pleasure to help make the team an international experience and I couldn’t have felt more welcomed by Georg, Ulrich, Michael and Reinhold.
On the Monday I visited the Rosenheim office, meeting colleagues and learning a little about the different ways of working and I look forward to meeting everyone again in the future. I hope this is the just the beginning for the Ecovis International cycling team.
