Celebrating the wonderful women of Ecovis for International Women's Day 2019

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 every year. It is a focal point in the movement for women's rights. Collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity is what makes International Women's Day successful. Today, we put a spotlight on women across the firm who are inspirational, empowering, and successful.

1. Monika Evanson

I was born and spent most of my life so far living in a beautiful city of Gdansk, Poland. As part of my degree I also spent some time living in Germany before deciding to move to the UK. I am an assistant manager in our Ecovis outsourcing department and work with a wide range of clients, mostly overseas-owned businesses. Not a single day is the same in the work I do and I enjoy the variety of my client portfolio as well as working with a wonderful team.

2. Pani Aristophanous

Coming from a small island like Cyprus, it is a huge opportunity for me to work in the UK and especially in London. A place which offers me unique experiences and the ideal place to kick off of my career. Being in the audit team here at Ecovis has exposed me to companies that I would have never encountered in Cyprus and has allowed me to build better skills and knowledge.  Although being away from home and speaking a foreign language will never get easier, I believe the decision to stay and work in the UK was the right one!

3. Anna Larsson

I grew up in Stockholm, Sweden, but am really half Swedish and half German. I speak both Swedish and German, although our German Ecovis colleagues have informed me that I speak German with a Swedish accent…

After originally having moved to the UK in 2011 to study Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic at university I took up a role managing research funding at the same institution, taking me back to my pre-university career path. It was my desire to become a qualified finance professional which eventually brought me to London and Ecovis; here I am an ACA-CTA trainee, studying both tax and accounting alongside my role in the tax team. Focusing on corporate tax, I help Ecovis’ clients fulfil their corporate tax filing obligations, and make the most out of the reliefs available to companies. Ecovis’ base in London and Soho in particular means that our clients are the most interesting part of the job, coming from different sectors and all corners of the world.

4. Alexandra Radcliffe

I grew up in the Cotswolds, and studied for an Economics degree in Exeter before moving to London for a bit more excitement! Four years later, I’m a qualified accountant working at Ecovis as a supervisor in the Financial Outsourcing team. I get to work with a wide variety of clients, in a company full of people I respect. I particularly love that Ecovis has embraced being a responsible business, and allows the people that work here to actually change things that they care about.

5. Alison Champernowne

After graduating with a Masters in Maths from Durham University I worked in recruitment and analytics in the Higher Education sector before joining Ecovis in January 2018. I work as our Senior Data Analyst preparing statistical reports and real-time reporting dashboard solutions for our clients. The friendly culture and investment in staff really make Ecovis stand out. Working in a consultancy is ideal because I get to meet clients from all walks of life and understand their businesses – there’s always new challenges. I am very fortunate to be able to say that I genuinely love my job.
