When deciding which charity to support, the Partner group at Ecovis Wingrave Yeats turned to the staff for suggestions. It very quickly became clear that homelessness was a shared concern across the firm and it didn’t take us long to settle on Thames Reach.
Thames Reach provides a range of services to thousands of vulnerable and socially excluded people across London, many of whom have suffered homelessness.
The charity’s vision is of a society where street homelessness does not exist and nobody needs to sleep rough on the streets. Its mission is to ensure that the users of its services find and sustain a decent home, develop supportive relationships and lead fulfilling lives.
It runs schemes geared towards helping people find work, enabling participants to make real and lasting changes to their lives. The Employment Academy in Camberwell helps unemployed and economically disadvantaged people find work. As part of our own Giving Back programme, our staff regularly support the Employment Academy by volunteering their time and specialist advice.
Thames Reach offers a wide range of services to the local community and provides support and training for the long-term unemployed to help them develop the skills and confidence to find jobs. It has developed a reputation for being a rich source of competent, well-trained employees, and for having strong links with a range of key employers across the capital.
